Six new faculty members, three of whom are from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences–Camden, will present their research on Monday, October 30th, at the Chancellor’s New Faculty Research Symposium.  All are welcome to attend this free event, which will take place from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the Campus Center’s Multi-Purpose Room.  Lunch will be served, as well.

The presenters include:

  • Dr. Rahshida Atkins, Assistant Professor of Nursing: “Community Based Participatory Research: Identifying Community Preferred Measurable Psycho-social and Physiologic Health-Related Outcomes that Motivate Sustained Participation in Urban Physical Activity Programs”
  • Dr. Kelly Dittmar, Assistant Professor of Political Science: “Representation Matters: Women in the U.S.Congress”
  • Dr. Wenhua Lu, Assistant Professor of Childhood Studies: “Adolescent Major Depression: Who Are Not Using Mental Health Services?”
  • Prof. Kimberlee Moran, Associate Teaching Professor of Forensics: Professor Moran’s research focuses on the interaction of forensic science and archaeological investigation and the application of established techniques from those fields to answer new research questions.
  • Dr. David Pedersen, Assistant Professor of Finance: Dr. Pedersen studies how mutual fund mergers generate risk-adjusted returns by investing in firms that become takeover targets.
  • Prof. Adnan Zulfiqar, Assistant Professor of Law: “Before Jihad: Competent Authority, Armed Conflict and Legal Duties”

After each presentation, the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions about the participant’s research.
